Shokota Equestrian.
I agree that all of the gimmicks, tricks and (no pun intended) dog and pony shows by trainers are cool and neat to watch, but it’s not what I do with a horse that makes your horse experience better…

IT’S WHAT I TEACH YOU AND YOUR HORSE TO DO TOGETHER that makes a safe and enjoyable relationship that will allow you to be confident enough to learn those gimmicks and tricks later.

What we really want and need is…
  • To feel and to be safe and confident.
  • To know we are not demanding too much, but asking enough to grow our knowledge and experience of the horse relationship.
  • To enjoy the company of your hose and truly believe your horse enjoys yours.
  • To learn to "speak" horse and understand their behavior because uncertainty, lack of education and knowledge breeds frustration. Frustration becomes aggravation. Aggravation morphs to aggression and anger. Anger leads to disappointment in our self and in horse-distrust.
GOOD HORSEMANSHIP REQUIRES A GOOD RELATIONSHIP AND MAKES THAT RELATIONSHIP FOUNDATIONALLY STRONGER IN ANY DISCIPLINE: ENGLISH, WESTERN, DRESSAGE, DRIVING, BARREL, HUNTER/JUMPER…HORSEMANSHIP MAKES THE DISCIPLINE.
